San Felipe, Mexico – As the 25th Annual San Felipe 250 commences festivities on Friday, Brandon Brown and his team will have been training, tuning, and pre-running in Mexico for almost a week. Team Quad75Dezert, led by Quad75 himself, is in Mexico to defend their Class 24 title. For the 250, Brandon is once again joined by team rider and head mechanic from S&S Motorsports, Kenny Sanford, rider Jorie Williams, who is returning to the team from last year, & new for the 250 is WORCS pro rider Robbie Mitchell. “I’m very excited to have the opportunity [to race]!” Robbie stated, “I have known Brandon and Jorie for a long time and think we will make a great team. I’m not quite sure what to expect but I think a lot of the fun grows from that.” ”Robbie’s sponsors were gracious enough to let us borrow him. We are very happy to have Robbie on board for the 250 this year,” said Brandon. Coming off of a winning season for 2010, claiming the Class 24 win for the year and for the 1000, as well as the ATV Overall win for the 1000, the team is optimistic about 2011. Read More

The Baja team is currently getting all the last minute details together in preparation for the San Felipe 250, including a bike shake-down this weekend. Pre-running starts next Saturday the 25th. The team is looking forward to eating tacos in between hammering whoops and miles of trail in the Mexican desert, and enjoying a little sun. San Felipe has a beautiful view, so visiting the beach is a little bonus too! This is the 25th anniversary of the SF250, and the team is proud to be racing it. The course will be just over 250 miles: Read More

It was Tuesday morning and the race would start early AM on Thursday. Nick needed to pre-run the start to Ojos several times and I needed to shake down the race bike. Nick took off with his own crew. I opted to have Kenny, Mike Kelley and Michael Kelley go with me to do the shake down. We headed to Ojos and would use Michael’s first section to get it done. This was a long enough section to make sure all was well and would give Michael a chance to ride his section in the dust behind me. This would give him a little perspective for what was to come on race day.

We got a good nights rest in Loreto and headed out early the next A.M. Paul and I dropped off Kenny and Nick where we had finished up the day before, ran back through Loreto for tacos to-go, and made our way through Insurgentes and out to the course again near the Pacific coast. Kenny and Nick rode 150 miles by the time we saw them again and were more than ready for the tacos that we had picked up for them for breakfast! It was mid afternoon by the time Kenny and I got on course again. Read More

Everyone, including myself, always talks about how much prep and planning there is in the months or even the whole year prior to heading south of the border for the Baja 1000. And it’s true. In fact, I’m already thinking about next year even as I write this. Heck, I was thinking about it before it had even sunk in that we won this one! In this article I’m going to focus on what we do once we get across the border and into the Wild West! Read More

Set your DVR’s for this Sunday Noon Pacific on NBC World Adventure Sports. It’s the coverage for this years Baja 1000! They just contacted us and said they would make mention of our teams success in the race! I don’t expect it to be much more than a reference to us but still pretty cool none the less!

Ensenada, Mexico (12/7/2010) – Every three years The SCORE International Desert Racing Series runs it’s Baja 1000 from Ensenada to La Paz instead of the usual Ensenada to Ensenada loop. A SCORE Baja 1000 peninsular run is a uniquely challenging event. Just driving Mexican Highway One alone in itself can be sketchy to say the least. Regardless of your experience, skill level, or the size of your kahunas, this race is not for the weak or faint of heart. Finishing one can be very difficult and winning can seem next to impossible. Pre-Running alone presents a whole slew of potential problems and dangers before the mad dash for La Paz that the locals call the “BAJA MIL” even begins. Cows on the road, and tweaked out truck drivers coming at you with little to no shoulder on the highway are some of my favorites before I even exit the truck to begin to pre-run.

Wiseco Piston Inc. Congratulations to Brandon Brown and the rest of the MXN Pro Caliber ATV team as they won their class in the 43rd annual running of the grueling Baja 1000. The amount of work, on and off the track, that goes into being competitive in this type of event is hard to imagine. Let alone pulling off a victory. All done on a ……shelf stock 4849M09400. Brandon is a super good guy and a long time sponsored rider for Wiseco.

The MXN Pro Caliber ATV Team Wins the 43rd Annual Score Baja 1000.
La Paz , BCS, Mexico -
After a 25 hour run from Ensenada to La Paz that was plagued with problems and adversity, Team Moto X Nutrition Pro Caliber came away with the overall ATV victory in the 43rd running of the Baja 1000! The team battled ruptured rear shock reservoir line, losing 1st gear, and crashing off half of their race lights to beat all of Class 24 and Class 25. Even a flawless run down the nearly 1100 mile peninsula course is quite a feat in itself, and the team managed to do it in less than 25 hours! The MXN team was able to overcome their issues and ride hard for the win. Read More

Flat tires to stolen goods, cracked engine cases the night before a race to blown shocks within the first 250 miles of the race; Baja is not without challenges before, during, and after the race and all year long. It takes tremendous dedication, hard work, knowledge, support and passion to get through a season of Baja and double to win in the harsh Mexican desert. Read More
