New for this race is Chris Kristensen & GNCC pro-am rider Richie Brown. Heading up Team 2 is Jamie Kirkpatrick, with returning rider Brian Watkins. The team made it to Ensenada last night and after touring the house, promptly got to work unloading gear, tools, and bikes. After everything was unloaded we arranged and organized, and then set to work doing the last little bit of preparation for pre-running. Kenny Sanford of S&S Motorsports headed up the effort, coordinating the 6 bikes and handful of help to get everything done. It always seems that there is just never enough prep time! Brandon Brown went over some logistics and some administrative work that comes with coordinating two teams and left Kenny to manage the mechanics. Read More

The Baja team is currently getting all the last minute details together in preparation for the San Felipe 250, including a bike shake-down this weekend. Pre-running starts next Saturday the 25th. The team is looking forward to eating tacos in between hammering whoops and miles of trail in the Mexican desert, and enjoying a little sun. San Felipe has a beautiful view, so visiting the beach is a little bonus too! This is the 25th anniversary of the SF250, and the team is proud to be racing it. The course will be just over 250 miles: Read More

Ensenada, Mexico (12/7/2010) – Every three years The SCORE International Desert Racing Series runs it’s Baja 1000 from Ensenada to La Paz instead of the usual Ensenada to Ensenada loop. A SCORE Baja 1000 peninsular run is a uniquely challenging event. Just driving Mexican Highway One alone in itself can be sketchy to say the least. Regardless of your experience, skill level, or the size of your kahunas, this race is not for the weak or faint of heart. Finishing one can be very difficult and winning can seem next to impossible. Pre-Running alone presents a whole slew of potential problems and dangers before the mad dash for La Paz that the locals call the “BAJA MIL” even begins. Cows on the road, and tweaked out truck drivers coming at you with little to no shoulder on the highway are some of my favorites before I even exit the truck to begin to pre-run.
