We all have many things in common but Desert Racing and Off-Road trips has been a passion and bond for us throughout: we lived for the camp fire camaraderie, great people in this sport, and pushing the limits of man, machine, vs. the terrains of Baja..
This was sent to Quad75.com after the 500. It comes from James Woodford, and it’s his account of Ironmanning the San Felipe 250 this year in Class 25. Coupled with some great photos, James tells us about his experience in honor of a fallen friend. James exemplifies why desert racers do what we do – for the love of racing! He overcame some adversity, but we’re not going to spoil it for you, you’ll just have to read his article.
No matter how sore I was, how hard it was, how many hours it took to finish the race, or how many long nights I put into prepping the bike before the race. It was all worth it! To Honor Spencer, to accomplish our goals, no one can ever take that away from me! It wasn’t just a desert race. It was a life changing event!
James Woodard’s SF250 Story
I’m sure Spencer is proud James!

I’m not quite sure what to expect but I think a lot of the fun grows from that.” ”Robbie’s sponsors were gracious enough to let us borrow him. We are very happy to have Robbie on board for the 250 this year,” said Brandon. Coming off of a winning season for 2010, claiming the Class 24 win for the year and for the 1000, as well as the ATV Overall win for the 1000, the team is optimistic about 2011. Read More

It was Tuesday morning and the race would start early AM on Thursday. Nick needed to pre-run the start to Ojos several times and I needed to shake down the race bike. Nick took off with his own crew. I opted to have Kenny, Mike Kelley and Michael Kelley go with me to do the shake down. We headed to Ojos and would use Michael’s first section to get it done. This was a long enough section to make sure all was well and would give Michael a chance to ride his section in the dust behind me. This would give him a little perspective for what was to come on race day.

We got a good nights rest in Loreto and headed out early the next A.M. Paul and I dropped off Kenny and Nick where we had finished up the day before, ran back through Loreto for tacos to-go, and made our way through Insurgentes and out to the course again near the Pacific coast. Kenny and Nick rode 150 miles by the time we saw them again and were more than ready for the tacos that we had picked up for them for breakfast! It was mid afternoon by the time Kenny and I got on course again. Read More

Everyone, including myself, always talks about how much prep and planning there is in the months or even the whole year prior to heading south of the border for the Baja 1000. And it’s true. In fact, I’m already thinking about next year even as I write this. Heck, I was thinking about it before it had even sunk in that we won this one! In this article I’m going to focus on what we do once we get across the border and into the Wild West! Read More

Set your DVR’s for this Sunday Noon Pacific on NBC World Adventure Sports. It’s the coverage for this years Baja 1000! They just contacted us and said they would make mention of our teams success in the race! I don’t expect it to be much more than a reference to us but still pretty cool none the less!

Wiseco Piston Inc. Congratulations to Brandon Brown and the rest of the MXN Pro Caliber ATV team as they won their class in the 43rd annual running of the grueling Baja 1000. The amount of work, on and off the track, that goes into being competitive in this type of event is hard to imagine. Let alone pulling off a victory. All done on a ……shelf stock 4849M09400. Brandon is a super good guy and a long time sponsored rider for Wiseco.
