About

My history in quads:

I have been riding since I was eight years old. I have wanted to race pretty much ever since the first time I rode a family friend’s 200-S three wheeler. Not exactly a choice race machine but it was good enough to let me know what I wanted to do.

My parents never really understood my passion so I never got a chance to race until after I graduated from high school and bought my own 1986 250R. I headed to the local race track to try my metal. I learned a lot the first couple of times out on the track. One thing was following too close in the corners without the proper amount of talent or experience will result in the local bike shop-owner’s son chewing you out for T-boning him. The next was…you end up breaking lots of parts. And without any support whatsoever it makes it a bit difficult to continue racing.

I hung it up for a few years until I could somewhat afford to try out the sport that I had a life-time of love for. This time it was an 88’ 250R (the only quad I would ever need if I could just get my hands on one). I got a +2 front end for it and some Ohlins shocks and I was set and ready to go. I had some decent results here and there and with the help of some friends, and I acquired a few entry level type sponsorships to get the ball rolling. In 2002 the WORCS Series was in its infancy and it came to Washougal, Washington and a friend of mine called to let me know that we were going. Then when we got there he informed me that we were racing in the Pro Class!

“Huh?” I said, “I’m not racing in the Pro Class!”

After quite a bit of razing and demeaning, I agreed. The race went well. I liked the format and was hooked. I ended up 3rd overall and figured out at that point that I was more of an off-road racer than an MX racer. I raced four rounds the next year and haven’t missed a round since. I’ve raced some SCORE races in Baja and some of the Best in the Desert series races. These have fostered my belief that off-road is where I belong.

In a nut shell there it is: I’ve worked hard to get to where I am in this sport and have had a lot of great sponsors and friends help me out along the way. So I’d like to thank all of them once again and thank all of the great fans of this sport as well.

Thanks for taking the time to check this out!
